Notice I didn't say "Thanks Giving" as that brings to mind "Thanksgiving" which brings to mind turkey, gravy and other foods. Giving thanks is the original REASON for the holiday of Thanksgiving but often it is forgotten, except for a cursory saying of grace before the meal. Yet who among us HASN'T been impatient to get to the meal while it's still hot? I will raise my hand freely as one who has been there, particularly in my youth.
I asked the angels about this tradition of Thanksgiving and received the following from them:
The origins of Thanksgiving may be in the alliance of "Indian" and Pilgrim that resulted in plenty for both, but often the obligation of family get togethers in a more dysfunctional mold leads to strife rather than harmony. Why is there so much gluttony at Thanksgiving? Often it stems not from hunger, but a desire to anaesthetize oneself from discomfort as old emotional buttons get pushed by the parent or sibling one successfully avoids during the remainder of the year.
We are not saying this in any way to condemn you. On the contrary, while we wish for all beings to be able to harmoniously relate, we realize that this may be too much to expect. Moreover, just because someone has been forgiven for past behaviors does not mean that emotional or physical abuse need be tolerated prospectively at any time. Sometimes the best thing to do is to send one's well wishes and blessings to one's family, and to have a harmonious meal with people to whom one is related on a soul level. We wish to encourage you to be kind to yourselves. Putting yourself in uncomfortable and toxic environments is not God's ideal at all. It would be preferable of course that all families be loving and supportive and kind to one another, but that is not the experience for many of you. Therefore, we would like to ask you to give thought to giving yourself permission to do whatever is kindest for yourself and for your family--and sometimes absence is kinder for all concerned than conflict.
Turning from this to the positive, we encourage all to give thanks to the Creator. As difficult as some of your life is on the human level, there are moments of wonder. Think about moments in nature, where you watch a sunrise, a sunset, a waterfall, an animal... Think about the miracle of birth, the fact that you don't have to consciously control your breath or your heart beating. Think about the people you love, the animals you love, about music and art and pleasures such as touch and color and flavors and scents you enjoy.
There is much to appreciate. Take the time to be grateful, not just on one day but every day. Think about what you love about being alive, and you will be more focused upon aliveness. Think about what brings you joy and bring more joy into your being.
We angels give thanks for being of service. We love our God, our Creator, and we love all of creation and are grateful to be in service to both. We are your connection to the Divine "out there" and the divine within your soul--we are messengers who remind you that Thou Art That, that God is indwelling as much as He is "up there." God is within your sense of wonder, of joy, of love and every urge you have to help other beings. Remember the sacredness of yourself and of all creatures. As you remember more and more to include God in your consciousness, your consciousness will include more and more of experiences and feelings that you consider "positive" and desirable--for God's very essence is what your soul yearns for, as sometimes you forget that you are connected and restoring that knowing brings you peace. Give thanks. God is. That is all.
Wishing you and your friends, families, and whoever you choose to celebrate life at Thanksgiving with, a day of sacredness, joy, and love--and appreciation. God bless you all!

California proposed sales tax on veterinary services
I respect others' political views and limit my posts on politics to things that help animals, such as Proposition 2 which resoundingly passed in California.
For my fellow Californians, I wanted to point out that Governor Schwartzenegger is planning to raise sales taxes as a means to help the budget deficit, as well as other measures such as an additional tax on alcoholic beverages, etc. I don't take issue with most of his proposals, but I do take exception to his proposed coverage of veterinary services under the sales tax.
Sales taxes are supposed to be SALES taxes, not services taxes, and particularly not on something like medical care for our beloved animals. If you are a Californian who feels similarly, please go to this website to sign the petition against taxing veterinary care. Thank you.

What To Do When Your Animal Is Lost
This lovely piece of advice is NOT original to me, but was written by a wonderful animal communicator named Judi Byers in a past newsletter. Judi is no longer on the physical plane, but her family has graciously given me permission to share this here.
***
Because I am contacted by so many people with lost pets, I would like to address what you the owner can do to help
by Judi Byers
The Minute You Realize Your Pet Is Missing
Search the area, talk to the neighbors and passersby. Walk or drive through the area several times daily. Early morning and evening are the best times to look for a lost pet. Hand out a recent photograph of your pet and information on how you can be reached. Call the pet from YOUR yard only. Walking through neighborhoods calling can confuse the animal and actually make them go further from home as they do not understand that you are not at home.
Post signs in the neighborhood with your pet’s description, a photo, your phone number and information about ID tags. Alert your neighbors that your pet is missing and get them to check in (and under) their sheds, summerhouses, shrubs and bushes. If you know a neighbor is on holiday, try and find out if they have left a key with someone so that their garden can be checked.
Also, if you have recently moved and your cat has gone missing, do go back to your old address. Cats have been known to wander miles in order to get back to their own home.
If you live in a rural area, contact local farms and stables. Some may have small colonies of dogs and/or cats living together – see if they have noticed a newcomer.
IMPORTANT:When checking gardens and sheds etc, remember that animals love to hide in bushes and dark places, so don't just call your pet's name, look thoroughly!
Print off or get the best color photocopy possible. For posters that will be outside, try mounting them on hardboard and covering them with a plastic to protect them against the elements.
Enlist friends to help you post them through the area, put in shop windows, vets, and post on telephone post, bus stops, park benches ...anywhere where groups of people frequent. Remember it is illegal to place any flyer in a U.S. Mailbox so attach to post or stick in doors.
Put posters in business windows in your town as well as any nearby towns - it is likely your pet will travel to the next town.
Give flyers to postal workers in the area or at your local Post Office if they will take them. Remember, every town will have several postmen or women. Try to reach all of them as they are working to give them the flyers and ask them to help. They will have a good chance of spotting lost pets since they are always out driving the areas.
Think about where you would go if you were your pet and you were lost and put up posters in the area - for instance cats love building sites - is there a new development being built near you? Rabbits and rodents will head for somewhere quiet, warm and sheltered - is there a park nearby?
IMPORTANT: Do not actively ask local children to help you look for your pet - you will waste valuable time going to a spot where your black and white missing cat has been sighted, only to find a tabby! Also, children can get excitable and groups of them looking for a pet can frighten it. If it still is in the neighborhood, it may be too scared to come out from where it is hiding. Also, this is often used as a ploy to entice children away from safe areas and might be misconstrued by a concerned parent.
Put the signs in grocery stores, local Petsmart or other neighborhood pet stores, community centers, veterinary offices and other high traffic locations.
Place advertisements in newspapers and with radio stations. Include your pet’s sex, age, weight, breed, color and special markings - but leave out one identifying characteristic so you can ask callers to describe it. If your pet is insured, depending on the type of policy you have, your insurers may be able to assist you financially with advertising costs.
Widen your search: If you do not know how long your pet has been gone, he may have had time to stray a long way from home. Animals can cover a lot of ground when they are chasing something or being chased. File a lost-pet report with every shelter within a 60-mile radius of your home and visit the nearest shelters daily, if possible. Even if they say your pet is not there, go and see for yourself. Check repeatedly. New animals come in every day. If there is no shelter in your community, give the local police an accurate description and recent photograph of your pet.
SOME SUGGESTIONS WHEN CONTACTING ORGANIZATIONS
When telephoning, emailing or faxing the organizations, it is imperative you give as much information as possible:Give the species, breed, size, sex, color, name and where it was lost and last seen. If they have any distinctive markings – such as a black spot on their face – make sure you highlight this.
State whether your pet was wearing a collar.
Give your name and telephone number (home, mobile, work) in case they find your pet.
If applicable, give details of any medication required.
Also let them know if your pet has any traits: i.e., are they very nervous?
Wherever possible, get a photograph to them.
Important: Losing a pet is a distressing experience - when contacting these organizations, make a note against each one as to who you spoke to/emailed etc so as not to duplicate the effort. When you call them back for an update, it also gives you more credibility.
Contact the police immediately if you believe your pet was stolen.
The Internet can be of some use in helping track down a lost pet, although its search is wide and random. The Humane Society recommends trying a United States Department of Agriculture Web site (www.missingpet.net) called USDA Missing Pet Network that connects you to a notice board for missing and found pets in your state.
Don’t give up your search. Animals who have been lost for months have been reunited with their owners.
Walk and drive the local and surrounding areas where you think your pet may be and ask friends and relatives to help. Bring a toy to squeak (if it is a dog) or a tempting treat for a cat or rabbit. Carry a flashlight and, depending on what pet you have, a carry case or collar and lead.
Take another photo of them with you too, (not the one on the poster), to show people - like humans, pets can look completely unlike their photo, so being able to show two pictures (the poster and another one) is better than one!
Respond immediately to any 'phone calls regarding sightings. Some people may call and say they saw your pet "a few hours ago" and though he or she may have moved on, you should still check that area anyway. It's a clue to where he/she might be.
Pets can get very disorientated and can travel for miles trying to get home, so, if after a weeks you have heard nothing, extend the area where you are searching.
IMPORTANT: Keep a note of all sightings of your pet, including dates and times and details of who contacted you, written down. It could prove useful in preempting where your pet is likely to go to next.
Most people are especially sensitive to those who have lost pets. Unfortunately, some are not, and a variety of scams have sprung up to exploit unsuspecting pet owners. Here are a few guidelines:
Be careful when placing lost-and-found notices: Give enough of a description so your pet can be recognized, but, again, hold back information about an identifying characteristic that will allow you to verify whether or not a person actually has your animal. Once a person has a description of your pet, they may use that information for their own gains.
When someone calls saying they have found your pet, take some precautions. Ask the person for a description of the animal that they have found without providing them any information. Do not answer their questions about your pet’s description. Ask them to describe your pet in every detail. If a person has your pet and is sincere, they will be eager to describe him and give him back to you without asking for anything in return.
If your pet was wearing a collar and I.D. tag, ask about it without disclosing any details. If the caller asks for information, wants to meet you at an obscure location or immediately asks for money for the animal’s return, be cautious. It may be time for you to call the police.
One ploy that is fairly common is called the “trucker scam.” Someone will call and say they have found your pet. “He must have hopped in my truck at the rest stop. I didn't’t even realize he had fallen asleep in the back. I am 200 miles from you now. Please send me some money so that I can drive him back to you,” the caller usually will say.
You send them a check and never hear from them again. What happened? The scammer picked up your lost-and-found ad and has called your number and described your pet from your write-up.
Remember: People who have actually found lost pets usually do not want anything but to help you get him back. If the finder is not willing to return your pet without a reward, be suspicious. Ask the finder to deliver your animal to you for the reward. If they refuse, they probably do not have your pet. If the person talks ransom, ask for their phone number so you can get back to them. Then call the police, who will tell you how to proceed. If the caller won’t give you their phone number, they probably do not have your pet.
THE BEST PLAN OF COURSE IS TO KEEP YOUR PET SAFE
For micro chipped pets, double-check they have your correct contact details.
Fence your yard making sure the gate is closed after people come and go.
Don’t leave your animal outside when you’re gone for long periods of time.
If you are gone for long time, leave your pet with a responsible person.
Walk your dog on a leash so he doesn’t wander off.
Make a copy of your pet’s rabies tag so you always have the numbers close at hand. Write your phone number on his tag, and take a good photo of your pet. Make sure you take them often as animals, like humans tend to change in appearance. A different haircut makes for a different animal.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Contact an Animal Communicator that is well known for their skills. The sooner you make this contact, the easier it is to locate said animal.
Picture in your mind a big beacon (similar to a lighthouse), or a beam of light shooting straight up (similar to the powerful lights used at night to announce a grand opening or event). Picture this light coming from your house and it is showing your animal the way back home. Visualize the beacon circling 360 degrees, searching for and reaching out to your animal. Imagine that your animal friend can "see" this light in his or her mind too. Intent is the most important part of this technique, so don't worry if you can't "see" such a light in your mind's eye. Just pretend that you can. Periodically reaffirm this intention by picturing the beacon or beam of light.
Talk out loud to a photograph of your animal friend. Tell them that you love them, you miss them, and anything else you want them to know. Ask that they return to you as soon as possible. Ask them to watch for the light and to follow it back home. Ask them to be safe and careful in returning, especially around roads and traffic. Respect their right to make decisions; ask, don't command.
Imagine a love cord connecting your heart to your animal's heart. See this cord in your mind's eye. Have the intention that this cord keeps you connected to each other, and will help draw the animal back to you.
Let go and let God or trust. You have put the energy into motion, now trust that it is working. Trust that the highest and best good will occur for all concerned. Accept that the "highest and best good for all concerned" does not always match our desires. If you believe in a higher power, call on a it, and on St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals, for assistance with the situation. Remember that animals also have higher callings and sometimes it is their destiny to move on to help another. If this is the case, please try to love them, bless them and let them go.

Moving Forward
Most companies are tightening down, cutting out frills and doing their best to survive the present economic downturn. Someone I know is facing a decision about whether to take a severance package from his workplace. The angels guided me to share this with my blog readership as it applies not only to him, but to many out there. The angels have a good sense of humor--I heard the song "We're moving on up" from the sitcom The Jeffersons in my head--for those of you old enough to remember it.
Beloved,
Take a deep breath and release your fear. Right now is right now, and a week from now, a month from now, six months from now--all have not yet happened. They are not yet here, and the future is something that is being created in the present. It does not yet exist, at least not concretely. When we angels look at your future, or any other future, it is a potential future. It is somewhat akin to watching the weather forecast on television. The Doppler radar shows the meteorologists patterns of movement, of the flow of temperature and clouds and pressure, and then a prediction about upcoming weather can be made based upon the present moment, and upon the past up to that moment. However, weather fronts do change direction sometimes and predictions sometimes are wrong. Many people have been bemused to listen to a "20% chance of rain" forecast while being 100% drenched.
So it is that we are examining the flow of energy surrounding your workplace and around your career future. To be quite frank, there is nothing tragic about leaving where you work. It's not as though you had an absolute love affair with your job, the hours, or the atmosphere. It was a job. When you were growing up as a small child, you didn't say that you wanted to be indoors 12, 14 hours a day, filling out paperwork and sitting in meetings. No, little children envision careers like being firemen, artists, astronauts, not accountants, engineers and postal workers. Why? Because the careers children choose have characteristics like creativity, freedom, exploration, and helping others in them. Children have a sense of mission in their career dreams. They want to make a difference, and they want to enjoy doing so. Fun and meaning are NOT optional.
So what was your dream growing up? What was going to be meaningful about it, what was going to be fun about it? Go back to your ten year old self, your inner thirteen year old. What did you want before "being practical" became part of the picture?
Passion is the key to your success. You will not thrive moving into a similar position as the one you left. Where do you feel passionate about living? What can you see as something exciting to look forward to in the morning? It is joy and enthusiasm that will make you stand out in an interview. Your intellectual abilities, your analytical abilities, are perfectly acceptable. But there are many who have education, have intelligence, have "suitability." You need to be someone who people will want to be around in the workplace. You need to be someone who will inspire others. And you cannot do that unless you find your passion.
We suggest that you center yourself in the excitement of possibilities, rather than in the energy of fear. Focus on opportunity. Focus on identifying what once gave you passion in your early years and how a career direction could give you that now. We see your talent with people. You are articulate, personable, likeable, and compassionate. You want to make a difference in the world, to leave the world a better place. You also have a strong sense of independence and march to your own internal rhythm. You will do better with a position that is not micro-managed by another.
Get excited. You are in for great change ahead. Make your move a joyful one. We are with you, we support you, and we love you. Remember you are are not alone and that there is much assistance that is nonphysical for the asking.

Messages From Your Animal Spirit Guides Oracle Cards
I recently bought Dr. Steven Farmer's new oracle card deck and really love the new cards. He has a HayHouseRadio.com radio show on Wednesdays called The Shamanic Hotline (which is awesome).
Here is the five star review I wrote for amazon.com on his new deck. I hope it influences those who would resonate with the deck, to purchase it. It is available on amazon.com and at barnesandnoble.com.
Thank you.

Messages From Your Animal Spirit Guides Oracle Cards are a powerful way to get in touch with Spirit. Not every person is drawn to learn shamanic practice, in terms of journeying in consciousness to alternate realities where power animals and spirit teachers reside. This is actually a good thing, as it takes more dedication and regular practice than just taking a weekend workshop, to form spiritual alliances with the compassionate loving spirits who want to help us with guidance and healing.
Dr. Farmer is a grounded individual who has been dedicated to the shamanic path for many years, who recognizes the power and wisdom of the power animals and other helping spirits in shamanism, but who realizes that these beings will gladly help people in terms of guidance and healing, who are not led to study shamanism. He is a bridger of worlds, and has been guided to help bring these powerful beings into the consciousness of people unfamiliar with shamanism.
The messages in this deck are grounded and empowering, as well as requiring self-reflection. Although I love the energy of other oracle card systems such as angel oracle cards, these cards are different. I can feel the animals' energy behind the cards, and the messages on the cards and the guidebook are only a beginning as far as accessing guidance goes. These cards aren't for the new ager who needs to consult an oracle to decide what to eat for lunch. The emphasis is on finding the answers within. Over and over, the messages in the guidebook talk about figuring out what one wants, about seeking balance, about figuring out where one has judgments. This is a deck of growth and self-reflection. There is nothing glib about these messages.
For those who are new to using oracle cards, this is a great deck to start with. The messages are clear and the images and texture of the cards marry well with the earth-tones of the cards. Additionally, for those who give readings to others, this is a fantastic deck for using with male clients, who sometimes are resistant to decks with fairies, goddesses and mermaids.
For those who are practiced in shamanism, please don't pass this deck by. There are some who wonder "who needs a deck of cards when I can journey and retrieve power animals myself?" My answer is that these two things are not mutually exclusive. It's wonderful to confirm one's own intuitive nudges by pulling a card that matches one's own guidance--basically, creating a synchronicity at will rather than seeking omens and signs in the external world. Additionally, one can become acquainted with animal spirits one has not previously worked with, and get new allies.
Others might think that a person's power animal might not be in a 44 card deck. I agree, actually. And for those of us who can journey with someone and retrieve a power animal for a person, that is a powerful experience for the recipient. But not every animal one works with, has to be one's power animal. Most of us have really close friends, and then less intimate friends we can socialize with as well. Likewise, we can explore working with new animal spirits and a deck like this is a great way to meet new allies. I also believe that one's own intuitive guidance can tell whether the animal cards drawn are of a power animal or of a less intimate guide.
The first card I drew really resonated with me, and it was not one of the power animals I have previous experience working with. So I started listening to a drumming track and journeyed with my main power animal, to the animal who was on the card. I asked for clarification on the message and received it, and also received an assignment from the animal about further journeywork.
I recommend this deck, as well as Dr. Farmer's prior deck, the Power Animal Oracle Cards, without reservation. The difference between the decks is interesting. The Power Animals deck is a more extroverted deck. The energy is more expansive, outgoing, with a more youthful exuberance. The colors are brighter, more vivid. In contrast, the Messages from your Animal Spirit Guides deck is more introverted, with muted colors. These cards seem to have been authored during a time of introspection and growth, and have a different feel to them. So I think there will be some people who loved the Power Animal Oracle Cards who will not find this deck to their liking, and people who were not drawn to the previous deck, who will love this deck. There is a maturity in this newer deck which I find appealing. The deck is looking for a person who is seeking a context into which one can place life's tougher experiences. This is an alchemist's deck--how can I transform some pretty leaden experiences into the gold of lessons learned and some valuable growth?
I thank Dr. Farmer, and the animal spirits who guided him in this deck, as well as the artist, for an exquisite and powerful new deck.

Honoring Charlie
Thursday, I went to a Memorial at USC for one of my professors, Charlie Whitebread. 600 people were in attendance.
Charlie Whitebread was one of the funniest, exuberant, and full-of-life people I have ever met, and his classes were very popular. He was dedicated to teaching and helping students, and traveled to 70 schools in the fall of every year to give his lecture on exam-taking to entering classes. I didn’t realize he had done this—he was more than generous in time and in spirit with our classes at USC, as well as doing the Bar/Bri tour every summer for folks preparing for bar exams across the country.
The memorial was a true celebration of life, very uplifting, with warm recollections of a unique, brilliant, quirky, and enlightened person. One of the other professors, Susan Estrich, gave a moving account of the last graduation ceremony Professor Whitebread attended, last May. She said when every name was called, he would say “he’s the best!” or “isn’t she great.” He truly believed that everyone was wonderful. He believed in everyone and that was the magic that he conveyed. He truly connected with everyone. Professor Estrich gave a wonderful exhortation at the end of her talk, telling us all to remember Charlie whenever we thought of ourselves as anything less than wonderful, and to think of him saying that we were the best. He had a special spirituality in terms of embracing and accepting all that he met, since most of us have some people we don’t care for.
There was also a reception with food and champagne, and as I looked over the tables with the neat piles of sandwiches with the edges cut off filled with things like cucumbers and cream cheese and egg salad, I thought it was more a ladies’ tea type selection than stuff Charlie would have liked. Just then, I had to laugh, as I heard Charlie's voice in my mind, "THAT'S not real food! Go get a burger!!!" I normally don't eat beef, but I went over to where they had kobe beef sliders and got one and ate a little burger in his honor. Beef normally doesn’t agree with me, but I had absolutely no difficulties with my digestion after I consumed the little burger. I asked the angels about this and received this response:
Yes, you normally eat more lightly and eschew consuming your mammalian brethren, yet in the context of celebration and appreciation, and in honoring the life of your beloved professor, you were able to transmute the energy of the food to one of love.
If you went to McDonald’s for a hurried hamburger “on the run” and did not bless the meal, but ate it without thanks for the life that was given, and in a hurried and unappreciative state of mind, you would likely experience indigestion.
How can this be? Some teachers advocate vegetarianism as part of a spiritual practice, and others say that it doesn’t matter what one eats, and that one can be spiritual and psychic/intuitive without being a vegetarian. Who is right? There is no “right” here.
It is true that one can live a spiritual life without being a vegetarian, and that one can have intuitive insights while eating meat. More importantly, though, is the individuality of a person’s consciousness, body, and guidance. Some people thrive on a diet low in carbohydrates that includes meat and animal products. Some people thrive on a vegan diet low in protein. Many people are in between.
You normally feel heavy, unenergetic and have digestive upsets when you eat beef or pork, which is why you avoid them. Lactose intolerance leads you to avoid fluid milk products and only eat small amounts of cheeses or yogurts. You are listening to your body’s guidance when you avoid them.
The more important issue than whether one is or is not a vegetarian, is whether one’s food choices are loving. When you chose to honor Charlie Whitebread by eating a slider, that was a loving choice. When you or others try to buy more humanely raised chickens or egg products, organic milk, etc., and campaigned for Proposition 2 for humane treatment of farm animals, that is a loving choice. When one harms other people who make other lifestyle choices with rude language, or when one chooses a path like vegetarianism for external reasons rather than internal guidance, that is not a loving choice. You yourself heard the woman at the reception yesterday who was upset that chicken and vegetarian quesadillas were mixed together in the same chafing dish. She told her companion, “I’m afraid to eat those.” She was afraid—she is genuinely afraid of eating chicken, rather than perceiving her choice not to eat chicken as a choice.
Is it a loving choice to choose meat from animals who were humanely treated? Absolutely. It is also appropriate to pray over one’s food to ask that the animal felt minimal pain during its life and death, and that any pain is given to God for transformation.
We angels urge you to eat with awareness what you feel guided to, to choose kindness, and to bless your foods. What is loving is what is important, including what is loving for oneself. And Charlie Whitebread did indeed have it right when he saw the best in all of his students, and made it a point to be an encouraging presence for all.
Passing to this side of the veil has not slowed him down at all—he still embraces kindness, he still loves fully without reservations, and he still is exuberant and fun loving. We encourage all to follow his example in this life and after...

Clairvoyance and the Menehunes
While we were on the big island of Hawaii, we decided to drive to the wet/Hilo side of the island to see some of the waterfalls there. I happen to see the fairies, who are nature angels, as brilliant little lights, usually around plants. In Doreen Virtue’s book Fairies 101, she wrote about the island elementals, called menehunes, and I really wanted to see a menehune.
At Akaka Falls, I not only saw a menehune, I saw two of them. When I saw the first one, I did not see a human looking being. Instead, I saw energy and knew it was a menehune. I asked Rick to look at it, and pointed, and he too could see the energy of the menehune. If you’ve ever seen the movie Predator, where Arnold Schwartzenegger’s character is hunting an alien creature who invisibly moves through a jungle and kills people, the special effects in the movie created a shimmer where the predator was. That’s what we both saw—a shimmer overlaying the background plant right under a certain leaf, akin to the shimmer in the distance when one gazes into the distance on a hot day.
I wanted to share this experience because so many people have a distorted understanding of clairvoyance. Although there are certainly people who can see angels, fairies, deceased people as solid and three-dimensional, the vast majority of people have a more subtle form of clairvoyance. Before I took the Angel Therapy Practitioner® training a few years ago, I thought I wasn’t clairvoyant. I actually am highly clairvoyant—I just thought that it would be more “real.”
Clairvoyance is actually a matter of getting guidance in terms of images. My clairvoyance is akin to the phenomenon of memory. Do you remember what your husband, or child, or dog or cat, look like? You just formed a mental image. These types of mental images are the types of images I receive when I am giving an angel reading, clairvoyantly.
I ask my readers to pay attention to things that appear in the “mind’s eye”, particularly after prayers for guidance. Most people are stronger in one or two forms of receiving guidance, but it is always good to increase the ways in which the angels can communicate messages to us, and paying attention to these images reinforces the strength of one's clairvoyance.

Archangel Michael's Vacuum
Kona was a wonderful experience. I was able to meet some online friends in person at the Advanced Training for ATP®s and AI™s, learn more about the angels, as well as basking in the relaxed energy of the big island.
Doreen Virtue shared an interesting update on the Archangel Michael vacuuming technique. In previous books, she has described the technique of asking Archangel Michael to insert what looks like the tubing from a canister vacuum cleaner, into the top of one’s head to vacuum out negativity, foreign energies, unhealthy thoughts, etc., from one’s body and aura/energy, and then to visualize him subsequently filling one with a creamy toothpaste consistency white light.
Doreen has been taught a new update on this technique by the angels—you can now ask Archangel Michael to install a permanent vacuum on yourself, family members, your home, workplace—anywhere that collects darker energies. This vacuum does not go over the crown of the head, but is rather positioned slightly to the side. My permanent Michael vacuum tube appears to be located in my right temple.
Does this permanently prevent you from having fearsome, angry or worried thoughts? No—but it does help keep one from having those thoughts and emotions get stuck in one’s energy. The vacuum helps keep energy flowing.
So how do you get your own permanent vacuum? You can call upon God to have Archangel Michael do this for you, call upon Archangel Michael directly, or even visualize him installing this on the side of your head.

Invocation versus Worship
Michael doesn't want to be worshipped. He gives all the glory to God and doesn't want to be prayed to. He's an intercessor between the Creator and created (that is, us). So we call upon him without praying to him, which is a subtle but important distinction.
--from The Miracles of Archangel Michael by Doreen Virtue
In Doreen Virtue's new book, she makes an important point about Archangel Michael not wanting our worship--yet that we can call upon him. The same is true of Catholic saints, the ascended masters (gods and goddesses with a small "g" as well as enlightened figures such as the buddha), and other angels and archangels.
Now certain religions feature a particular ascended master as a recipient of worship. For example, in traditional Christianity, Jesus, one of the ascended masters, is worshipped as being one with God. In the Hindu pantheon, there are many gods and goddesses who are worshipped within Hinduism.
However, in actuality, God is omnipresent--that is everywhere. So God is within each of these deities, within the angels, within ascended masters, and within you and me. That doesn't mean that I am God or you are God--but it means that God includes all of us. So those who choose to worship a given deity or ascended master are actually worshipping one aspect of our Creator, rather than the Allness that God is. For this reason, I don't like to refer to "the Goddess" or God as a He or She. God is all inclusive and is beyond gender, and particularly beyond anatomical differences.
That said, I wanted to ask the angels about the idea of invoking their help as opposed to worshipping them, and instead Jesus stepped forward. He says:
It is true that I and the Father are one, as the Bible says. However, God is more than a Father--God is all that is, all that is not. God is all that has ever been, all that will be, and all that can possibly be. God is infinite potentiality and infinite Being, and it is impossible for the limited, mortal mind to comprehend all that God is. However, it is possible for the human HEART to comprehend God--God has a particular feeling, one of joy and wonder, love and peace--a deep sense of wellbeing in the presence of God met within the innermost parts of one's being...
But I am not the only one who is one with God. You too are one with God. The angels are one with God. My mother Mary is one with God. Kuan Yin and the Buddha of the Buddhist tradition, Shiva, Kali and Ganesh of the Hindu tradition, White Buffalo Woman of the Lakota, Isis of the Egyptian tradition, saints, archangels and angels--we are all one with God. The difference between us and you, is that we were and are much more aware of this oneness at all times, and our thoughts, feelings and actions were more aligned with this awareness. Thus we spend our time and focus on love and peace and joy--not worry or unforgiveness or ill will.
It is not our goal to be venerated for who we are as personalities. We all look to our Creator for our very being and our nature, and give God all credit for who we are and what we do. We are happy to help you if you ask, so if you want to "invoke" or call upon any of us, you can think help and the appropriate being(s) will assist, or you may call me or any of the other ascended masters, angels and other divine beings by name--mentally, out loud, or even visualizing us in your presence. It is all an appropriate way to call on us.
Our mission is service to God and service to those on earth, including humanity. We ultimately wish all to realize that which we have--that you are powerful beings, that your nature is love, that God is the source of all good within you and within your life, and that great joy comes from service and love and sharing with others. We wish you to focus not on our personalities, but upon the examples we have set through our teachings and what we did in life. I spoke about loving God and neighbors and performed healings in my human lifetime--I would rather that people also focus on loving God and other inhabitants of your planet, and upon bringing healing to themselves. Worship of me as a person, Jesus, rather than seeking to emulate the Christ aspect of me, is a distraction from my real message.
Do not focus on us--focus upon the Creator behind who we are--and behind who YOU are.
*Please note that I still venerate and worship Jesus in church and believe in God as trinity--However, Jesus wants all glory to be to the Father and I conveyed his message.*
