Partying with the Fairies

The above title just came to me as I was inquiring about a blog topic... The fairies are nature angels. There is a Jewish saying about each blade of grass having an angel to whisper "grow, grow, grow." These angels are the fairies. Just as we have guardian angels, our animals such as dogs and cats have fairies as their guardian spirits. Other animals may have related but similar guardians--for example, a deer may have a guardian "sylph" instead.

Fairies aren't as egoless as angels and they can have a sense of mischievousness--and they will definitely play practical jokes on people who are unkind to animals, nature or the environment. I keep plastic bags and gloves in the car because often when we go looking for wildflowers in the spring, or go for a drive, we will see litter and debris and the fairies are pretty strident about my doing my duty for cleanup if I'm going to be appreciating the beauty as well.

I asked the fairies for what they wanted to say about "partying":

When we say "partying," we are not talking about it in the way an adolescent talks about getting loaded. We are talking about having a sense of fun and relaxation, and inviting US into your lives so that you can partake of our natural sense of fun and relieve your stress.

We encourage you to get outdoors and breathe some fresh air, feel some sun, walk alongside us fairies and the other nature angels. If you have allergies, just too bad! Just kidding.... you can always ask us to help you out with the allergies so they aren't as bad so you can get outdoors more.

We also encourage you to care for animals, and particularly if you are in a position to do so, adopt animals from your local animal shelter so that they are not killed due to animal overpopulation. When you pet your cat, you can be assured that we're enjoying that too.

Our message is one of fun and joy. Appreciate this earth and appreciate nature, of course--and we love you when you love the environment. But we want you to shed the cloak of stress and worry, and step into OUR world, daily. Many of you are worried about finances--well, a walk outside or stopping to admire flowers or to touch a tree, is FREE.

Party with us fairies. Prioritize fun. Joy is what we're about!
